Kaufman, Texas – October 5th, from 6 until 8pm Kaufman residents locked their doors, turned on their outside lights, and spent the evening outside with their neighbors, law enforcement, fire departments, and community leaders for National Night Out, America’s Night Out Against Crime. Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office was pleased to be graciously invited to be part of the Kaufman Police Departments evening.
Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office employees look forward to this annual festival. They feel that this is the opportune time to generate awareness of and support for drug and crime prevention in the city of Kaufman, as well as the County of Kaufman. This event is vital in strengthening neighborhood spirit and police/community relations.
Sheriff David A. Byrnes stated, “Taking a more proactive, community involved approach is what this night is all about.” “We can't do our job effectively without having the citizens that we serve on board. It's imperative for us that they are. I think efforts like this go a long way into strengthening those relationships."
