The resident began to follow the suspects, and during the process called the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office. The suspects fled, in what was believed to be a stolen truck, into the city limits of Kaufman where a pursuit began.

The suspects fled north on highway 34, throwing what was believed to be stolen property out of the truck window, all the while traveling with speeds reaching 100 mph. The chase continued on highway 34 with law enforcement from six different agencies in pursuit. The suspects gave up and the chase ended in the 5400 block of highway 34 in Ellis County without incident.
