Garland Man Arrested for Burglary

Kaufman, Texas – On December 10th Kaufman County deputies responded to the 3000 block of Greenwood Circle in Kaufman regarding a stolen pickup truck. About 1:08 a.m. residents at the address heard the pickup being started and when he went to investigate the vehicle was gone. He also noticed an interior light on in another truck he owned. The homeowner placed a quick call to 911, and reported the incident.

 In the meantime a Kaufman County deputy noticed a pickup matching the description of the one stolen traveling on Interstate 20. While the deputy was in pursuit, the occupant of the stolen truck bailed out and fled on foot. A search of the immediate area by DPS helicopter, and Forney Police Department, as well as a Kaufman County K-9 unit, apprehended the suspect. Ronald David Belken, 48, of Garland. Belken was found hiding behind a residence on Hickory Park Dr. He was apprehended without incident and transported to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center.

 Bond is set at $18,000.00. Belken also had outstanding warrants in Dallas County and Garland Police Department.
