Trio Arrested for Peddling Drugs

Forney, Texas – On November 22, 2010 Kaufman County investigators busted a drug ring that is responsible for peddling ecstasy pills to area high school students.

Arrested and charged with Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG2 > = 4G < 400G is Otedrick Lee Lacy, 26, of Forney and Kimberly Ann Smith, 37, also of Forney. A local high school student was also arrested during the undercover sting.

The trio was apprehended without incident, and they were transported to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center, where bond is set at $500,000.00 for both Lacy and Smith. The juvenile was turned over to juvenile probation for processing.

Kaufman County investigators expect further juvenile arrests in this case.

“Drug use leads to devastating things in peoples lives, and it is our reasonability to do all we can to help keep Kaufman County a safe place for our children.” stated Sheriff David A. Byrnes.
