Two Arrested On Drug Charges
Kaufman, Texas –On Wednesday, May 5, 2010 a Kaufman County Deputy was in the process of executing a traffic stop on I-20 just about the 496 mile marker on a vehicle driven by Kenneth Miles, age 23, of Marshall. As the deputy approached the vehicle he could smell an unusual odor. Accompanying Mr. Miles in the vehicle, was Troy Anthony Cole, age 31, also of Marshall. After receiving consent to search the vehicle, the deputy discovered approximately a pound of what he believed to be marijuana, along with $2000.00 in cash. Also discovered in the vehicle were two prescription bottles filled with a liquid, with the labels scratched off.
Both Mr. Miles and Mr. Cole were arrested and transported to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center, where they were charged with Possession of Dangerous Drugs, and Possession Marijuana > 4oz. < = 5lbs.
Bond was set at $6,500.00 for Mr. Miles and $11,500.00 for Mr. Cole.
