Two Separate Cases of Vigilant Neighbors Lead to the Arrest of Four

James Bednar

 Aleah Decroix

 Davy  Lowe

 Jeremy Martin Delp

Kaufman, Texas – On Tuesday December 7, 2010 Kaufman County deputies received two separate calls regarding two unoccupied houses that were burglarized. One call came in at 9:40 a.m. in the 19000 block of N State Hwy 34, in Terrell. The residence had been broken into and an estimated $1000.00 in tools was taken.

A tip from a neighbor shed light on the type, color and make of vehicle that the suspects were driving, and after giving deputies a statement about his home being burglarized, the homeowner spotted the vehicle parked on the side of the road on State Hwy 34, attempting to jump start another vehicle. He stopped to check on the car and observed some of his stolen property inside the car.

A quick call to 911 helped Kaufman County deputies apprehend both suspects. Arrested and charged with burglary of a building were Aleah Renee Decroix, 29, of Mesquite, and James Bednar, 30, of Terrell. Both were transported to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center without incident. Bond is set at $15,000.00 for both.

Kaufman County investigators expect more arrests in this case.

Later another call came in at 4:37 p.m. This time Kaufman County deputies were called to the 7000 block of FM 2728 on a burglary involving another unoccupied house. Neighbors witnessed two suspects in the process of breaking into the residence. The witnesses then followed the fleeing suspects and were able to block the suspects’ vehicle from leaving in a drive way on County Road 131.  Kaufman County deputies quickly apprehended both suspects. Arrested and charged with burglary of a building were Davy Wayne Lowe, 29, of Arkansas, and Jeremy Lee Martin-Delp, 29, of Terrell. Both suspects were transported to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center where bond is set at $15,000 for each. Lowe also had an outstanding warrant from Terrell Police Department.
