Kaufman, Texas January 24, 2010 – During what was going to be a traffic stop involving a minor traffic violation on FM 2757, near County Road 741 in Crandall ended in the seizure of two thousand pounds of marijuana.

Before Sergeant Charles Sexton could complete the traffic stop, the driver of the van left the roadway and wrecked the White Ford Econoline Van. When Sergeant Sexton went to check on the safety of the driver, he found the Ford van was still running, in drive, with no occupants. Packed inside the van was two thousand pounds of marijuana, in black plastic bags, and wrapped with tape.

The estimated street value of the marijuana is over $2,000,000.00.
