Woman Arrested for Aggravated Assault

 Terrell Texas—Sheriff’s Deputies have charged a Kaufman County woman with Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon family violence.  The charges stem from an altercation that started about 9:16 a.m. on November 3rd.

Kaufman County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 4000 block of FM 2578, in Terrell, in reference to a family violence situation. Mary Kathryn Cornelius, age 55, of Terrell, was reported to have tried to stab Samantha Ashley Cook, age 20 with a pair of scissors after becoming upset about the victim moving her stuff around. Ms. Cornelius then left the residence.

Sheriff Deputies quickly located Ms. Cornelius driving on Highway 175 at FM 1390. She was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center, where bond is set at $ 10,000.00 .
