Traffic Stop Yields Drug Arrest

Terrell Texas, - What started out as a traffic stop, turned into two Terrell residents being arrested and charges with drug possession. On February 28, 2012, at approximately 9:08 pm. a Kaufman County deputy stopped a 1997 Ford 3500 flat bed truck on a traffic stop on State Street at Hardin Street in Terrell.

As the deputy approached the vehicle he observed the passenger open the door of the truck and appear to be putting something under the seat of the vehicle. When the deputy searched the passenger side of the truck, he found a syringe with a broken plunger sticking in the floor board carpet. The syringe contained what the deputy believed to be methamphetamine. A further search of the vehicle led the deputy to another bag containing what was believed to be more methamphetamines. Several unused syringes and  several bottles of liquid substance, yet to be identified by the drug lab were also found along with $636.00 in cash.

Arrested and charged with Possession of a substance in Penalty group 1 Under One Gram, was David J Snyder, 54, of Terrell, and Melanie Denise Snyder, 54, also of Terrell.   Both suspects were transported to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center where bond is set at $25,000 for both.
