Lateral Hiring Pay

Effective January 24, 2023, the Kaufman County Commissioners Court approved lateral transfer pay for the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office.

• Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office lateral transfer pay as follows up to $10,000 for 5 years of consecutive law enforcement experience.
• Up to $5000 for 5 years of consecutive detention officer experience and up to $5000 for 5 years of consecutive dispatcher experience.
• Deputy base pay: $55,000
• Dispatcher base pay: $45,794
• Detention Officer base pay: $45,794
